30 Days of Listening
As part of our Vision 2030, we are committed to strengthening our engagement with parents and carers and ensuring that a wider range of voices helps to shape our future direction.
That is why we want to launch our 30 Days of Listening Campaign starting Monday 23nd February, 2026 and continuing for 30 days.
What is 30 Days of Listening?
30 Days of Listening is a focused parental engagement campaign designed to gather your views, experiences and ideas about how our school works for your child and your family.
We will be inviting parents and carers to:
Complete short online questionnaires
Attend weekly drop-in listening sessions on a Thursday between 4-5pm
Share feedback through conversations with school leaders and Governors
Our aim is simple: to understand what is working well, what could be improved, and what we may need to explain more clearly.
Why are we doing this?
We know that parental engagement is one of the most powerful influences on young people’s success in school. By listening carefully to parents and carers, we can:
Improve communication and clarity
Strengthen trust and relationships
Make informed decisions about future developments
Ensure our priorities reflect the needs of our community
Listening does not mean that every suggestion can be implemented. However, it does mean that we commit to being open, honest and transparentabout:
What we can change
What will take longer
Reasons why some things can’t change
What we may need to explain better
What will we be listening to?
Feedback will be gathered across five key themes that reflect core aspects of school life:
1. CommunicationHow we communicate with parents and carers, including phone calls, letters, the website, ClassCharts, social media, newsletter, school reports, parents’ evenings and general information sharing.
2. Culture and EthosOur school values in action, including behaviour and attendance expectations, enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities, trips, and the safety of the school.
3. Routines for LearningExpectations around lessons, homework, assessments, and how learning is supported day-to-day.
4. Academic StandardsThe importance of progress, results and qualifications, and how we support students to achieve their potential.
5. Learning PathwaysOur curriculum offer, timetable structure, subject choices, and additional support for skills and future pathways.
Each week of the campaign will focus on one of these themes.
How can you get involved?
We encourage all parents and carers to take part in whatever way suits you best. We will issue a new questionnaire every Sunday and will be available between 4pm and 5pm every Thursday in the Community Hub Café for in person feedback. Every voice matters, whether you share detailed feedback or a single comment, we are interested in what you have to say.
